Estate Tea - India |
|
Single estate teas manufactured with leaves from unique gardens, always have unique characteristics and are generally identified by the name of the estate (tea garden). They are very similar to unique wines associated with a single vineyard.
Single estate loose-leaf premium teas stand out from much of the teas sold in the market today because they are genuinely pure single estate teas. These teas are carefully selected and packed by the growers to guarantee its purity and authenticity. The originally packaged teas are what's directly sold to customers.
The Assam region of northeast India is bisected by the Brahmaputra river. Even though the region is not high altitude the soil is a deep, sandy loam and the climate is hot and steamy. These conditions produce thick full bodied teas. In contrast however, the Nilgiri teas grow at higher altitudes and in very good soil producing light
liquoring teas but with a unique floral-like flavor.
